Thereâs space for your story here.
At Phoenix Nest, we believe everyone has something worth sayingâand a way of saying it thatâs entirely their own. You donât need to be a polished writer, a seasoned artist, or a capital-C Creative to contribute.
You just need to be you.
This isnât a page for perfect work. Itâs a space for honest work.
If your submission carries feeling, curiosity, truth, or beautyâwhatever that looks like for youâthen thereâs a place for it here.
đ« What Weâre Looking For
We accept a wide range of creative work.
Some of it is polished. Some of it is raw. All of it matters.
Hereâs what you can send in:
âđœ Personal Essays + Reflections
We love stories about the everyday moments that shape usâwhether itâs a conversation that stuck with you, a lesson youâre still learning, or a memory youâre finally ready to name. If your words explore growth, joy, longing, identity, grief, connection, or anything else that lives in your inner world, weâre listening.
đš Art & Photography
Send us visuals that carry a feeling. We welcome everything from portraits and still life to abstract pieces, mixed media, collages, or documentary-style photo essays. If it made you pauseâchances are, it will do the same for someone else.
đ Poetry
Your poetry doesnât have to rhyme or resolve. It doesnât need a lesson or a form. If it holds emotion, rhythm, or reflection, weâre here for it.
đ” Music + Multimedia
We love audio and visual storytelling. That means short films, original songs, experimental soundscapes, vlogs, animationsâif it moves something in you, share it. Weâll tell you how to submit it best.

đïž A Place for Every Voice
You donât have to be anything but yourself to belong here.
This space is open to anyone with a story to share, a perspective to offer, or a piece of art that carries meaningâwhether itâs bold or quiet, brand new or years in the making.
We welcome the polished and the in-progress. The curious and the confident. The practiced and the just-getting-started.
Thereâs no box you need to fit into.
No identity you have to prove.
No tone you need to hit.
If what you create comes from a place thatâs realâwhatever that means for youâthen youâre in the right place.
This is a space for everyone.
Because creativity belongs to everyone.
And your voice is already enough.
âł When Youâll Hear Back
We do our best to respond within 4â6 weeks, though sometimes weâre deep in creative production. If your work is accepted, youâll hear directly from us with next steps.
If itâs not a fit, it doesnât mean it wasnât meaningful. Some pieces are just meant for different placesâand we honor that, too.
đ° Contributor Pathways
Right now, we offer payment to our long-term contributorsâthose who consistently share their work and become part of the magazineâs living archive.
To become a long-term contributor:
- Youâll need 10 accepted submissions across categories
- Once you’re in, youâll have access to paid opportunities and additional visibility
- Weâll also list those opportunities on our Opportunities page when they arise
Weâre building this as we go, and weâll keep evolving how we show up for the people who help shape this space.
đ For First-Time Contributors
You donât need a portfolio. You donât need to call yourself a writer or an artist.
If you have something to say, you belong here.
We celebrate stories that are quiet. Incomplete. Awkward. Beautiful. Weird.
Thereâs no wrong way to share your truth.
đȘ¶ This Is a Beginning
Your story doesnât need to be profound to be worth telling.
It just needs to be yours.
Share something that feels real.
Weâll receive it with care.
đŹ How to Submit Your Work
We have three different forms, depending on what you’re sharing. Please take a moment to choose the one that feels most aligned:
- âš Standard Submissions â Essays, poetry, photography, playlists, multimedia, reviews, and more
đ Submit your creative work here - đ€ Feature Requests â Want to be considered for a Phoenix Nest feature?

đ Nominate someone else for a feature
đȘ¶ Before You Go
Whether youâre submitting a story, a playlist, a photograph, or a feeling wrapped in verseâthank you.
Thank you for creating something.
Thank you for being willing to share it.
Here at Phoenix Nest, we treat your work like it mattersâbecause it does. Not just because of what it says, but because of where it comes from: you.
You donât need to have it all figured out.
You just need to take the first step.
So if something inside you is nudging forwardâtrust it.
Weâll meet you there.
âš We canât wait to see what you create.
đïž Weâre already holding space for it.
